Pierre Blier is a Professor at the University of Ottawa, Department of Psychiatry and Cellular/Molecular Medicines and the recipient of the Endowed Chair in Mood Disorders Research at the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR).
Blier has been involved in studying the mechanisms of antidepressant treatment for 34 years. He has focused on learning how antidepressant medications work and how to make them work more effectively: studying their effects, finding new cellular targets for treatment and developing new treatments. Now, Blier is turning his attention to the therapeutic potential of ketamine.
